Sharing photos in the cloud is more popular than ever, with millions of photos uploaded to the Web each and ever day. Now, major sites like Facebook and Picassa have a new competitor, as photosharing site Pumpic announced today it is coming out of beta and launching its 1.0 version.

The Israeli startup, founded in Tel Aviv in 2012, offers a simple, free way for users to upload and share an unlimited amount of high quality images. Pumpic helps users to share photos across multiple platforms in just one click, giving them total control over privacy of images across social media sites and mobile devices.

Users will appreciate Pumpic’s focus on tight privacy controls, a feature tech giants like Facebook are often criticized for overlooking. The startup already has a significant amount of venture funding under its belt—it raised $700k after just seven months in an Israeli-based incubator program, The Time.

Users can upload 10 pictures per second and immediately send images to individuals of their choice, as opposed to navigating tricky privacy controls on other platforms. Pumpic gives users more control over the images they share and whom they share them with, and users can send up to 10,000 images—each up to 100 MB in size—instantly.

The photosharing platform is available on the Web or via mobile devices, and offers seamless integration across all of a users’ devices, including desktop, laptop, or mobile.

Mobile and desktop users alike will appreciate Pumpic’s attempt to create a more seamless and customizable photosharing experience, all conveniently placed in the cloud.

Time will tell if Pumpic pushes major photosharing sites out of the picture, but the company’s focus on tight privacy settings may just send users running to it. Keep your eyes on this startup as it continues to innovate throughout 2013.
